Harry Demarest
Engineering and Manufacturing Team Manager
Harry is a 30+ year veteran of the commercial aircraft industry and has worked in aircraft and propulsion engineering on F100, DC10, MD-80, MD11, A300 aircraft as well as Boeing models 737, 747,757,767,777, 787. He is responsible for leading our Engineering and Manufacturing teams.
Prior to his current role at Hercules Partners, Harry has worked at AIS, Pratt & Whitney, American Airlines, and Alaska Airlines. While at Alaska, Harry served as the Director of Engineering. During his tenure, the Engineering department completed installation of Split Scimitar Winglets, the largest ever cabin re-fit in Alaska’s history, streaming content for WIFI, prototypes for Nitrogen Gas Inerting, and the introduction of APU On-Demand ETOPS; all while maintaining the best on-time for performance of any North American carrier. At American, Harry was Managing Director of Aircraft Engineering. Under his auspices, Engineering removed over $200M of annual cost of maintenance using Lean manufacturing techniques. Harry also used his Lean background and Six Sigma training to guide the transition of AA’s MD-80 heavy maintenance from a traditional production scheme to a moving line, which lowered check time from 22 to 15 days.
